The Mobile Paint Guy is a veteran-owned collision and refinishing shop on Fedex Way in west Rochester, taking insurance work, panel repair and reconditioning under a single roof. Michael Bracci Jr. studied autobody repair at WEMOCO in Spencerport, served in the United States Marine Corps, and opened the business in 2022 with his wife Tonya McCanna, an Air Force veteran who ran military police and missile security before joining him. It began as one mobile van and grew into a fixed collision repair shop that kept the turnaround the van work was built on. The menu runs from insurance estimates and body repair through refinishing, paint correction, ceramic coating, headlight restoration and window tinting, with interior and exterior auto detailing sold on its own or booked as the closing stage of a repair. The mobile origin still shows in how quoting works: photos and video of the damage go up through the website before the car does, so the first visit is a confirmation rather than a discovery, and a small dent can be priced without anyone giving up a morning to find out it was small. Wet sanding and buffing is the step most customers never hear quoted, and it decides whether a repair reads as invisible. Paint leaves the gun with a faint texture and can trap a speck of airborne dust, so a fresh panel comes out of the booth slightly rougher than the untouched ones on either side of it. The surface is leveled with progressively finer wet abrasive, then compounded and polished until the reflection traveling across the repair bends the same way as the reflection traveling across the neighboring fender. Miss that stage and the color can be a flawless match while the panel still announces itself, because the eye reads texture long before it reads a shade.
